Summary:
Skyla L. G. Volpe is a normal antisocial teenager; she studies, reads books, and hangs out with her only best friend Cora Buck. She lives with her little sister and mother in a town outside Salt Lake City, UT. Her reality is set in stone where no stranger can be trusted and working hard is important. However, this view of hers gets shaken to the core when Skyla unwillingly goes to a cemetery with Cora, Josh, and Jryan. They encounter a beast right from myth: a werewolf. Barely escaping with their lives, Cora starts to believe that this is not the end of this mysterious werewolf while Skyla and the boys want to forget and move on. This hopeful thinking is smothered when a new boy comes to school who really wants to gain Skyla's trust. William is handsome, cool, and has girls wooing at his every step, all except for Skyla. Although she quickly distrusts him, for some reason she is comfortable in his presence. Their encounter starts Skyla on an adventure and danger that ultimately reveals mysteries about him, the werewolves, and eventually secrets about her dead father.
